Rupert Huber (musician)
Rupert WM Huber (born December 1, 1967 in Mödling ) is an Austrian composer and pianist . He became internationally known primarily through the Tosca music project .
Life
Rupert Huber studied composition in Vienna; he plays the piano, synthesizer, guitar and bass and has been realizing his music in his own recording studio since 1989. His main focus is on composition ( 12 easy-to-play piano pieces 2002) and sound installations in public spaces.
Around 1993, Huber's first compositions were broadcast on the show Kunstradio - Radiokunst on the Austrian radio station Ö1 ( mess the business not phrank! 1993, tintin et les 7 boules de cristal 1994) and on Deutschlandradio . Since 1994 he has been composing and producing the Tosca project with Richard Dorfmeister . The album No Hassle , released in April 2009, was placed internationally - like earlier productions by the duo. He created commissioned works for the Wiener Festwochen and repeatedly for the Ars Electronica Festival, where he was also a member of the jury of the Prix Ars Electronica in 2007 and 2009 . In 2009/2010 he was a member of the jury of the Austrian Music Fund . Another aspect of his work is the collaboration with conceptual artists such as Gabriel Orozco and Robert Adrian X .
Huber's work is based on the musical format he developed, dimensional music , which he describes as “the inclusion of space and the electronic or psychological projection of a musical or tonal content in the composition”.
The musician currently lives in Vienna , previously also temporarily in Berlin .
