Anna Creek Station is the largest cattle ranch in the world. It is located in the Australian state of South Australia and covers 23,677 km² (for comparison: this corresponds approximately to the area of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Slovenia has 20,273 km², Belgium 30,528 km²), making it many times larger than the largest farm in the USA.

Originally founded as a sheep farm in 1863, the business was converted to cattle breeding a short time later, as these animals proved to be more resistant to attacks by dingoes . The owner is S. Kidman & Co. Ltd. founded by Sidney Kidman . , a company that also owns other farms. Anna Creek Station is the seat of the central administration of all farm activities for this company, which is one of the largest farms in the world with a total of 11 million hectares and 170,000 cattle.

Since the station is located in a very dry area, even small fluctuations in annual precipitation can have a major impact. The number of cattle kept on the farm therefore varies greatly from year to year. After a lot of rain, up to 18,000 cattle can live on the station, but in times of great drought it can happen that operations have to be shut down completely. With the number of animals, the number of people employed also changes. August 2012 17 people worked on the farm.

On December 16, 2016, the Williams Cattle Company took over the ranch for an estimated 16 million Australian dollars.

The farm also includes the Anna Creek Painted Hills , the existence of which was kept secret for a long time and which are still not allowed to be entered. Only flying over is allowed.
