Zalaszentgrót small area

The small area Zalaszentgrót ( Hungarian: Zalaszentgróti kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Zala County in Western Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . At the beginning of 2013, as part of the administrative reform, 20 villages (with 15,518 inhabitants) were added to the successor district of Zalaszentgrót (Hungarian: Zalaszentgróti járás ), 3 (with 1,353 inhabitants) moved to the district of Keszthely and 2 (with 258 inhabitants) came to the Zalaegerszeg district .

At the end of 2012, 17,129 people lived in an area of ​​327.05 km². The population density was 52 below the county average.

The administrative seat was in the only city Zalaszentgrót (6,634 Ew.). The 24 remaining localities had an average population of 437 (on 10.52 km² each).
