Keszthely small area

The Keszthely small area ( Hungarian: Keszthelyi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Zala County in Western Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . It was created on September 25, 2007 when the Keszthely-Hévíz small area was divided . In the course of the administrative reform, at the beginning of 2013 all 16 localities were transferred to the successor district of Keszthely (Hungarian: Keszthelyi járás ), which was reinforced by 14 localities from the small areas of Hévíz , Pacsa and Zalaszentgrót .

At the end of 2012, 34,011 people lived in an area of ​​349.34 km². The population density was 72 above the county average.
