The district of Keszthely ( Hungarian Keszthelyi járás ) is a district in the east of the southwest Hungarian Zala County . It borders Zalaszentgrót County in the north , Zalaegerszeg County in the west and Nagykanizsa County in the south . In the east, which forms Veszprém County with the circles Sümeg and Tapolca the border, in the south of the border leads to the district Marcali in Somogy county over the Balaton (Hungarian Balaton ).

history

During the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013, the district emerged from the small area of the same name (Hungarian: Keszthelyi kistérség ). The dissolved small area Hévíz gave all 8 municipalities to the new district. The small area Pacsa , which was also dissolved at the end of 2012, gave up 3 of its 20 communities. Finally, 3 other communities came from the small area of ​​Zalaszentgrót to the north .
