Anna Elise Zernecke

Anna Elise Zernecke is a German Protestant theologian .

From 1995 to 2004 she studied law , Protestant theology, middle and modern history and ancient oriental studies at the University of Mainz , the University of Leipzig and the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg and from 1997 to 1998 law at the University of Burgundy as a scholarship holder of German - French colleges; Diplôme de license en droit. In May 2004 she passed the first theological examination at the EKHN . From 2004 to 2005 she was a scholarship holder of the Hessian Luther Foundation. Since 2005 she has been a research assistantat the seminar for the Old Testament and Biblical Archeology in Mainz From 2005 to 2011 she was a fellow (guest status) in the graduate school "Images of Gods - Images of God - Images of the World" at the University of Göttingen . After completing her doctorate in 2010 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, she has been teaching as W3 professor for the history of religion of the Old Testament and archeology of Syria-Palestine at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel since 2018 .

Her main research interests are the designations and images of God, the religious history of Israel and the ancient Near East, prayer and ritual, the history of forms, Hebrew studies and Canaanite epigraphy.
