Anna Kerstin Otto

Anna Kerstin Otto (* 1972 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German visual artist.

life and work

Otto studied from 1997 to 1999 at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main (HfG), and then until 2005 at the Städelschule in Frankfurt fine arts. Michael Krebber was one of her professors at the Städelschule . During her studies she was awarded the " Ernst & Young " Prize for Art in 2002.

Otto puts together cut up pictures, which then serve as the basic structure for a later work of art. She uses the optical effects of different canvas materials. Her “multi-real” works of art are created by painting the basic structure.

In 2006 she received the Villa Romana Prize . In 2013 she was funded by the Hessische Kulturstiftung with a travel grant for the USA .

She lives and works in Frankfurt am Main.
