Michael Krebber

Michael Krebber (born April 26, 1954 in Cologne , lives and works in New York City and Cologne) studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe in the 1970s (with Markus Lüpertz and Georg Baselitz ). 1979–1980 assistant to Georg Baselitz. 1986–1987 assistant to Martin Kippenberger . 2002–2016 professor at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main .

Michael Krebber has been married to Cosima von Bonin since 1992.

In 2015 Michael Krebber was awarded the Wolfgang Hahn Prize of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne.

Michael Krebber is represented by the galleries Galerie Buchholz , Cologne, Berlin and New York; Chantal Crousel, Paris; dépendance, Brussels; Greene Naftali Gallery, New York; Maureen Paley, London.
