Art Association Braunschweig
The Kunstverein Braunschweig is a non-profit association of the city of Braunschweig . The art association is dedicated to promoting contemporary art within the city and region of Braunschweig, as well as international positions.
history
The Kunstverein Braunschweig was founded in 1832 and has been showing contemporary art since 1946 in the early classicist Villa Salve Hospes on Braunschweig's Lessingplatz . The Villa Salve Hospes was built 1805-1808 according to plans by Peter Joseph Krahe as the residence of a merchant. Since 1996, young or experimental art has also been shown in the Remise of the Villa Salve Hospes on 60 m² of exhibition space. This means that 8 individual or group exhibitions take place in the Braunschweig Art Association every year.
In 2010, the Braunschweig Art Association had around 500 members and is a member of the German Art Association (ADKV).
