Ulrich Görlich (* 1952 in Alfeld ) is a German - Swiss photographer and installation artist .

life and work

Ulrich Görlich was born in Alfeld, Lower Saxony , in 1952 and has been working as a photographer since 1978. From 1978 to 1982 he was head of the photography workshop in Berlin-Kreuzberg. He studied at the California Institute of the Arts from 1982 to 1983, and since 1983 he has been developing enhanced photographs for installations based on bromide silver emulsion .

The murals are exposed directly onto the wall using projected motifs and developed in large format. After a while, the unfixed images fade and the room installation dissolves itself over time.

Ulrich Görlich has been a lecturer at the University of Art and Design since 1991 and head of the photography department since 1993. Görlich was visiting professor at the California Institute of the Arts in 1998 and at the Leipzig University of Graphics and Book Art in 2001 . In 2002 he was appointed professor at the Zurich University of Art and Design.
