Anna Kroher

Anna Kroher (born June 30, 1859 in Augsburg ; † December 4, 1943 in Staudach-Egerndach ) was a German author and folklore researcher .

Life

Anna Luise Dorothea Kroher was the daughter of the wholesale merchant Carl David Troeltsch. She married the son of the founder of the Staudacher cement factory, Adolf Kroher. Her main folklore work Im Bannkreis der Große Ache from Chiemsee to the Bavarian border from 1917 was published in 1921, 1971, 1981 and 2003 under the title Im Bannkreis der Große Ache . The book is considered a standard work on the Achental.

Honors

At the school in Staudach-Egerndach a plaque commemorates Anna Kroher, on January 26, 1930 she became an honorary citizen of the Egerndach community, and overseas Anna-Kroher-Strasse was named after her.
