Anna Pollatou , Greek Άννα Πολλάτου , also Anna Polatou (born October 8, 1983 in Kefalonia ; † May 17, 2014 at Varda), was a Greek athlete in rhythmic gymnastics .
Private
Anna started gymnastics at the age of four and successfully participated in the first competitions for children when she was eight. Between 1997 and 2000 she was a member of the Greek selection , with which she was multiple European and world champions. A year later, she ended her active career as an athlete and increasingly appeared as a trainer in the promotion of young talent. On May 17, 2014, Anna Pollatou died in a car accident.
Sporting successes
European championships
At the 1999 European Championships in Budapest , Hungary , Pollatou won three gold medals with the Greek selection.
World championships
At the 1999 World Championships in Osaka , Japan , which took place between October 12th and 17th, Anna won two golds and one silver with the Greek selection.
Olympic games
At the 2000 Games in Sydney , Australia , Pollatou won the bronze medal in the team standings with the Greek selection .
