Anna Schaper

Johanna Lisette Julie Anna Schaper , b. Brügmann (born December 30, 1867 in Hamburg ; † April 9, 1933 ) was a Hamburg politician of the German National People's Party (DNVP) and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life and politics

Schaper attended the private school of E. and C. Raynal and from 1884 to 1886 the seminary of the convent school . In 1887 she married Fritz Schaper, who owned the "JF Schaper cigar shop". The marriage resulted in six children. One of the children died early.

From 1899 she worked in “poor relief”, from 1907 in “cripple welfare” and from 1914 in “war aid”. She was also active in the War Welfare Office and in housewives' organizations. She was also a member of the college of the poor.

From 1919 to 1924 she was represented for the DNVP in the Hamburg citizenship. She was also the first female deputy in the Department of Commerce, Shipping and Commerce.
