Anna van der Kamp

Anna Magdalene van der Kamp (born June 19, 1972 in Abbotsford , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian rower who won the Olympic silver medal in 1996 in eighth place .

The 1.80 m tall Anna van der Kamp rowed for the Victoria Vikes . At the World Championships in Indianapolis , she finished seventh with the Canadian eighth. In 1995 the eighth reached sixth place at the World Championships in Tampere . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Heather McDermid , Tosha Tsang , Maria Maunder , Alison Korn , Emma Robinson , Anna van der Kamp, Jessica Monroe , Theresa Luke and helmsman Lesley Thompson were in the Canadian eighth, who was second behind the Romanians in the run-up occupied. In the repechage race, the Canadians took second place behind the boat from the United States. In the final, the Romanians won over four seconds ahead of the Canadians, who in turn had 0.39 seconds ahead of the third-placed Belarusians.
