Anne-Mari Virolainen (born December 5, 1965 in Turku ) is a Finnish politician in the conservative National Collection Party and has been Minister for Foreign Trade and Development in the Sipilä cabinet since February 12, 2018 .

Life

Virolainen was born in Turku . In 1990 she graduated with a Master of Economics from Turku Business School. She has worked as an executive for Eniro , Telia Company and ICT Turku .

Virolainen was Chair of Lieto City Council from 2005 to 2012 . She was elected to the Finnish Parliament in the 2007 , 2011 and 2015 parliamentary elections. From 2010 to 2016 she was a deputy party chairman of the rally party. Virolainen has headed the Parliament's Grand Committee since 2015.

On February 6, 2018, after a cabinet reshuffle, Virolainen took over the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development in the Sipilä cabinet .

Virolainen lives in Lieto. She is married to Petri Virolainen, with whom she has three children.
