Anne Dyer

Anne Dyer (born February 1957 in Yorkshire , England ) is a British Anglican bishop of the Scottish Episcopal Church .

Life

Dyer attended Bradford Girls' Grammar School . She first studied chemistry at St Anne's College , Oxford . From 1984 she attended Wycliffe Hall in Oxford and King's College in London , where she studied Anglican theology . Dyer was ordained a deaconess in 1987 and a priestess in 1993. From 2005 to 2011 she served as Warden at Cranmer Hall in Durham . On March 1, 2018, Dyer was ordained bishop in the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney , Scotland . Dyer is the first woman ordained a bishop in the Scottish Episcopal Church. She is married and has one child.
