Anne Friedrich is a German classical philologist .

Anne Friedrich studied Classical Philology and Slavic Studies at the Universities of Halle-Wittenberg and Odessa from 1989 to 1995 . This was followed by a research stay at the University of Salamanca in 1996 . Between 1999 and 2002 Friedrich was a trainee teacher and then a teacher at the Elisabeth Gymnasium in Halle. The doctorate took place in 2000 with a thesis on The Symposium of the XII sapientes. Comment and author's question at the University of Halle. In 2001 she was awarded the Bruno Snell Prize of the Mommsen Society for her work. In 2002 she went to the Chair of Latin Studies at the University of Halle-Wittenberg as a research assistant, where she has been working as a research assistant in the field of didactics of ancient languages ​​since 2009.

Friedrich primarily researches the literature of the Neronian period, late antique poetry and the reception of ancient literature in German-language literature and art. She is a board member of the Mommsen Society.
