Anne Geddes

Anne Geddes MNZM (born September 13, 1956 in Queensland ) is a photographer and fashion designer of Australian origin who lives in Auckland ( New Zealand ) and is mainly known for her baby and maternity photographs .

biography

In the early 1980s, Geddes first experimented with the family camera and developed her personal photography style in the process. She published her pictures, mostly with idealistic or dreamlike depictions of babies and toddlers, in numerous books, calendars, greeting cards and other art products. In 1991 she and her husband founded Next Generation Enterprises Ltd. through which it sells its products in over 50 countries worldwide. Part of the company's profits go to Australian and New Zealand child protection projects.

Together with Celine Dion , the project Miracle: A Celebration of New Life was created in 2004 , a joint project in which pieces of music and photographs are combined with the topic of new life and babies. In 2004 and 2005, the French Post issued four of Gedde's photographs as a series of stamps C'est une fille - C'est un garçon (Eng .: It's a girl - It's a boy ).

In addition to numerous awards for her work, she received lifelong membership in 1997 with the Professional Photographers of America and honorary membership of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP). In 2004 she was appointed a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM).

Anne has been married to Kel Geddes since 1990 . They have four daughters, two of whom are from her husband's first marriage.
