Anne Leahy
Anne Suzanne Lucette Leahy (born November 18, 1952 in Quebec City , Quebec) is a Canadian ambassador .
Life
Anne Leahy studied business administration and Russian . From 1974 to 1976 Anne Leahy was accredited to the Representation of the Canadian Government to the EU in Brussels , from 1980 to 1982 in Moscow .
From 1982 to 1986 she was involved in the preparation of the MAI at the OECD . From 1989 to 1992 she was ambassador to Cameroon and Chad.
As Ambassador-at-Large for the Great Lakes area in Africa, she was part of the Group of Friends of the Great Lakes, a group of 28 governments and international organizations, on February 17, 2005 in Kigali at the International Conference on Peace, Stability and Development in the Great Lakes Region .
From 1996 to 1999 Leahy, based in Moscow, was also accredited by the governments in Tashkent , Yerevan and Kiev .
From 1999 to 2000 she taught at York University on “The Aftermath of the Collapse of Communism in Europe”. From 1992 to 1993 Leahy was Head of Politics in the Canadian Department of State. From 2000 to 2002 she coordinated World Youth Day 2002, the youth event with the most participants in Canada, at which young people met with John Paul II in Toronto . In November 2002 Leahy founded the Institut d'études internationales de Montréal at the Université du Québec à Montréal .
