Anne Louise Hassing (* 17th September 1967 in Horsens ) is a Danish actress who for their movie roles several times with the Danish Film Award Bodil Award.

life and career

Hassing began her acting career with the role of Kirsten in Nils Malmro's Pain of Love , a story about an emotionally vulnerable young woman who fell into severe depression in the course of her relationship with her teacher . For this role she received the 1993 Bodil Film Award in the category Best Actress in a Leading Role . For this role she also received the Danish film award Robert . It was only after this success that she began acting training at Denmark's State School for Theater and Modern Dance in Copenhagen (Statens Teaterskole) in 1993, which she graduated in 1997. In the same year Lars von Trier cast the role of Susanne in his film Idioten with her. It is the role of a gentle woman with a golden heart who lives together with her childhood friend Stoffer and a group of friends in a house in the country. For this role she again received the Bodil in the category Best Actress in a Supporting Role . In the following years she played in other Danish films such as Klinkevals (1999) and Juliane (2000). She receives special recognition from critics for her roles in successful Danish television series , such as the series Krøniken (2004–2007).

Hassing converted to Buddhism in 1998 and is married to her compatriot, the musician Peter Hellemann.
