Anne Samplonius (born February 11, 1969 in Grand Rapids ) is a former Canadian - American cyclist .

Anne Samplonius, who has Dutch roots, was born in the USA and grew up in Canada. She is a citizen of both countries.

In 1994 Anne Samplonius was runner-up in the individual time trial at the World Road Championships in Agrigento, Italy . Since then she has belonged to the world elite of female individual time trialists. Several times she took podium places in this discipline at Canadian road championships, in 2007 she became Canadian champion and won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro . In 2008 she won the Ronde van Gelderland , the Tour de Leelanau and again the Canadian championship in the individual time trial. In 2010 Samplonius won the Chrono Champenois - Trophée Européen and finished eighth in the Route du France Féminine . In total, she started at 13 road world championships. In 2012 she ended her cycling career.

After finishing her active time, Samplonius worked as an online editor for RusVelo in 2012 and as a content manager for Trek Factory Racing from 2013 . She also works as a trainer .
