Anne Urbauer (* 20th century) is a German publicist and journalist .

Life

Anne Urbauer grew up on a farm in Emertsham in Upper Bavaria, which today belongs to the municipality of Tacherting in the Traunstein district. She studied history , politics , sociology and communication studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and graduated from the German School of Journalism .

From 1984 she wrote as a local editor for the Munich evening newspaper . In 1988 she moved to the editorial office of the Hamburg Zeitgeist magazine Tempo , where she was in charge of the Modern Life department. In 1991 she took over the management of Modern Life at the Hamburger Illustrierte Stern . From 1996 to 1999 Urbauer was in the same position at the weekly newspaper Die Woche in Hamburg .

From the founding of Wallpaper magazine in London in 1996, she worked there as a contributing editor until 2002. In 1999 Anne Urbauer launched the Berlin design magazine HOME. She also developed Spruce , a twice-yearly fashion magazine from the wallpaper publisher Time Warner (2001), the multi-award-winning MINIInternational Magazin (2001) and the supplement Stil of the NZZ am Sonntag, the Sunday edition of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (2003).

From 2005 to 2007 Urbauer led the relaunch of the women's magazine Amica together with Patricia Riekel .

In December 2007 Urbauer launched Liebling magazine together with Markus Peichl . From 2009 to 2011 she was responsible for the relaunch of the Max Joseph magazine published by the Bavarian State Opera , for which the Lead Academy Hamburg awarded the Lead Award in the main category Lead Magazine of the Year in 2012 because a "rather elitist and outdated topic is incredibly fresh, is implemented in a contemporary way and accessible to everyone ”. In 2010 she was responsible for the relaunch of Country magazine. Since 2011 she has been working in Munich and St. Gallen as a communications consultant for companies in fashion and design as well as for publishers.
