Annelie Brendel (born September 24, 1983 in Lutherstadt Eisleben ) is a former German soccer player . The midfielder was most recently under contract with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg .

Career

Brendel started her career at the age of seven with SV Merkur Volkstedt . The next stations were Rot-Weiß Polleben and MSV Hettstedt. With a special permit from the DFB , she should be allowed to play in the male B youth team at MSV. However, this was rejected by the Saxony-Anhalt Football Association . Then Brendel moved to Böllberger SV and in 2000 to 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . With Turbine she won the German championship in 2004 and 2006, the DFB Cup three times and the UEFA Women's Cup in 2005 . In 2006 Brendel moved to VfL Wolfsburg, where she spent the following four years, but did not get a new contract after the 2009/10 season and then ended her career.

Brendel went through all of the youth national teams of the DFB and ran a total of 60 times for Germany. With the U-19 national team , she won the European Championships in 2001 and 2002 and finished third at the U-19 World Cup in 2002 .

Private

Brendel studied law , successfully passed her second state examination in 2011 and is now working as a lawyer.
