Annelies Häcki Buhofer

Annelies Häcki Buhofer (born June 23, 1954 in Zug ) is a Swiss linguist . From 1989 to 2015 she worked as a professor at the University of Basel .

Career

Häcki Buhofer received his doctorate in 1980 under Harald Burger at the University of Zurich with the thesis The language acquisition of phraseological word combinations. A psycholinguistic study of Swiss German material . In 1984 he obtained his habilitation at the University of Zurich with the title Writing in Everyday Life. Theoretical and empirical aspects - using the example of a Swiss industrial company . In 1985/86 Häcki Buhofer received the Venia Legendi for the field of German linguistics and in 1989 became an associate professor at the University of Basel and in 1997 a full professor . From 2002 to 2005 she held the positions of dean and vice dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the university and from 2007 to 2010 the dean of studies of the faculty.

Häcki Buhofer's main research areas are psycholinguistics , language acquisition , the linguistic situation in German-speaking Switzerland, variation research , lexicography , phraseology , literacy / orality , grammar theory in the 18th century, gender aspects of language use , empirical semantics and corpus linguistics .

Coming from a family of industrialists in Zug, she is also a member of several boards of directors.
