Annette Kitagawa

Annette Kitagawa (born July 10, 1972 ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( alto and soprano saxophone , flute ).

Kitagawa lives and works in Bern. In 1993 she was a member of Araxi Karnusian's women's saxophone quartet Lady Face (with Nina Kubik and Lisette Wyss). In 1996 she recorded the album To the Point with Stewy von Wattenwyl . After completing her training at the state teacher training college in Hofwil-Bern, she graduated from the Swiss Jazz School in 2002 . In 2002 she founded the women's saxophone quartet Lily Horn Is Born with Lisette Wyss (with Fabienne Hoerni and Susanne Müller ). The band played numerous concerts internationally. In 2007 the musicians parted ways before they reunited in 2017. Kitagawa played in bands like Jammin ' feat. Rhonda Dorsey, the Gary Scott Band, Emel , Bruce Reynolds Harissa Boudoir Orchestra or the Uptown Big Band . Kitagawa has been teaching at the Belp Upper School Center since 2008.
