Annette Stroyberg , also Annette Vadim , born as Annette Susanne Strøyberg (born December 7, 1936 in Rynkeby on Funen , Denmark ; † December 12, 2005 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish model and an actress in French and Italian film.

Life

As model

Annette Stroyberg grew up in Copenhagen after the early death of her father, a doctor, and then moved to Paris at the age of 19, where she was discovered for fashion photography because of her beauty. She initially worked as a photo and advertising model for brands such as Tuborg beer. a. photographed in the cubit . In 1957, the attractive blonde met the director Roger Vadim , who then divorced his then wife, the film star Brigitte Bardot , in December of the same year and married Annette Stroyberg, who bore a striking resemblance to Bardot, in June 1958. In the same year their daughter Nathalie was born, who later occasionally assisted her father with the film. In 1959, Annette Stroyberg made her film debut and initially called herself Annette Vadim.

With the film

She made her debut in February 1959 with the second female leading role of Marianne Tourvel in Vadim's production Dangerous Liaisons at the side of Gérard Philipe and Jeanne Moreau and appeared on the side of Vadim as a guest in The Testament of Orpheus by Jean Cocteau .

Already in 1960 the marriage with Vadim failed and the Mimin called herself Annette Stroyberg again. Under this name she had a small success that same year with the erotic vampire film ... and dying of lust , her last collaboration with Vadim. The late years

After no further offers were made in the mid-1960s, Annette Stroyberg began a jet set life that led her around the world. She was said to have had numerous affairs with celebrities from the film world and representatives of the financial aristocracy. In Rome she met a Moroccan sugar manufacturer, married him and lived with him in Morocco and New York. The marriage that resulted in a son named Yan lasted only three years.

Husband No. 3 was a Greek shipowner named Gregory Callimanopulis, with whom she moved into a 14-room apartment on New York's Park Avenue. With him, Annette Stroyberg had a son named Pericles. After 15 years this marriage also failed and Annette Stroyberg returned home to Denmark. The ex-actress spent the last years of her life back in Copenhagen, where she died of cancer at the age of 69. Shortly before, she had published her autobiography under the telling title Skandaløse forbindelser (in English: scandalous relationships ).
