Annie Marie Sundbom

Annie Marie Sundbom (born November 18, 1932 in Örnsköldsvik ) is a Swedish social democratic politician , socialist and diplomat .

Life

Sundbom is the daughter of the small farmer Olof F Sundbom and the native Svensson Elsa. She graduated in 1950, studied at Viskadalen Folk High School in 1955 and in Lund in 1957 . From 1958 to 1959 Sundbom was a childcare assistant in Kiruna , from 1959 to 1962 in Uppsala , ombudsman of the Swedish Social Democratic Youth Association (Sveriges socialdemokratiska ungdomsförbund, SSU; youth organization of the Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti) and from 1965 to 1967 general secretary of the Swedish youth organizations.

From 1967 to 1970 she was the ombudsman of the Stockholm Workers 'Community, from 1970 to 1980 deputy secretary of the Swedish Social Democratic Women's Association, from 1980 to 1985 ombudsman for the Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti (Swedish Social Democratic Workers' Party) and from 1986 ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sundbom was a Swedish ambassador to Gambia , Liberia and Sierra Leone , based in Stockholm .

Sundbom was a member of Stockholm City Council from 1973, was the first deputy chairman and chairman of the city council from 1979 to 1985, and was chairman and member of a number of city councils and boards.
