The limestone quarry on Flimmerberg is a nature reserve in Vellern in the Warendorf district .
It covers approx. 6 hectares and is located southeast of Vellern in the Höckelmer farming community. The state road L586 runs south of the area and the county road K23 to the west. The nature reserve is named after the nearby 161 m high Flimmerberg.
Together with the Vellerner Brook and Lauhoffs Bach , the former limestone quarry was placed under protection in 1995. It is worth protecting, among other things, because of its role as a habitat for "reed and marsh plants, water birds, dragonflies and amphibians".
