The Mirlenbrink-Holtrup-Vohrener Mark nature reserve is located in the towns of Ennigerloh and Warendorf in the Warendorf district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 389 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 2003 , extends southeast of the core town of Warendorf and north of the core town of Ennigerloh. The B 475 runs through the area and the Salzbach flows , a left tributary of the Holzbach .

The protection takes place

  • for the maintenance and promotion of communities or habitats, in particular of rare, partly endangered waders and meadow birds , amphibians and of rare, partly endangered plant communities of open water and wet grassland
  • for the creation and restoration of communities or living spaces
  • because of the rarity, peculiarity and beauty of the area
