The Holzbach is an 11.1 km long orographically left tributary of the Ems in Warendorf , Germany, in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Holzbach rises in Westkirchen at an altitude of 77  m above sea level. NN . From here it first flows in a northerly direction. After about halfway up the river, its course turns to the northwest. On the eastern outskirts of Warendorf the stream flows out at 53  m above sea level. NN on the left into the Ems .

From the source to the mouth, the difference in altitude is 24 meters, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 2.2 ‰. The 25.498 km² catchment area is drained via the Ems to the North Sea.
