Annika Blanke (* 1984 in Leer ) is a German author, slam poet , cabaret artist and presenter.

biography

After various publications in anthologies and magazines, her first novel Born: Toulouse was published by Lektora- Verlag in 2012 . The Nordwest-Zeitung praised "her ability to listen to words for a little longer and her strength to describe people - also in their subtle, inconspicuous movements - succinctly but brilliantly". In 2017, a story volume followed, called the other day, yesterday was still today .

Annika Blanke has been a participant and winner of numerous poetry slams since 2007 . In 2009 she reached the semi-finals at the German-speaking Slam Championships in Düsseldorf , and in 2013 in Bielefeld as well.

She is also a regular participant in the Low German variant Slam op Platt and performed in 2017 at the invitation of the NDR in the Landeshaus Kiel .

In 2015, Blanke opened Andrea Gibson's spoken word show in Berlin. In 2017 Blanke was runner-up in the slam battle at Wacken Open Air , and in 2019 she won the competition with a double victory with the poet Khaaro. Other previous festival appearances include a. the Deichbrand Festival, the Open Flair and the A Summer's Tale.

At the invitation of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Blanke represented the Federal Republic in the poetry slam competition of the German-speaking countries at the BUCH WIEN in 2019.

Together with Insa Sanders and Rita Apel, she forms the traveling reading stage DAMES BLONDE.

She is co-founder of the reading stage Metrophobia (together with Christian Bruns) in Oldenburg , where Blanke also lives and works.
