Anopolis ( Greek Ανώπολις ( f. Sg. )) Is a village in the municipality of Sfakia in the southwest of the Greek island of Crete . Together with four smaller settlements, the village forms the local community of the same name ( Topiki Kinotita Anopoleos Τοπική Κοινότητα Ανωπόλεως).

With an area of ​​99.632 km², Anopolis forms the largest local community in the municipality of Sfakia. It borders in the north on the municipalities of Chania and Apokoronas . Neighboring local communities within the municipality of Sfakia are Agia Roumeli and Agios Ioannis in the west and Askyfos and Chora Sfakion in the east.

The village is located on a plateau south of the Lefka Ori near the Aradena Gorge . There is a road connection to Chora Sfakion and via the Aradena Gorge to Agios Ioannis.
