The Anse du Lion ( French for Lion's Bay ) is a small bay in the Géologie archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adelieland . It is located between the Île des Pétrels in the south and the man-made runway of the Île du Lion in the north.
The bay was originally a strait that French scientists named Chenal du Lion (French for lion channel ). The bay described here, to which the original name was transferred, was created through the construction of the runway.
