The Anseba ( Tigrinya ኣንሰባ ) is a seasonal river in Eritrea .

geography

The Anseba rises on the northwest slopes of the central highlands of Eritrea, in the Maekel region near the capital Asmara . It flows north and joins the Barka just before the border with Sudan .

Hydrology

The river only flows a few months a year. It only ever reaches the estuary during the rainy season in the summer months.
