Anselmo Lurago

Anselmo Martino Lurago (baptized January 9, 1701 in Como , † November 29, 1765 in Prague ) was an Italian builder.

Life

He comes from a family of builders from the upper village of Pellio Intelvi near Como. His teacher was Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer , a master builder in Prague , whose daughter he later married. Lurago completed some of the buildings that Dientzenhofer had begun or designed. The construction of the Palais Czernin and the facade towers of the Church of the Assumption of Mary are significant. In addition, he is considered a builder for smaller church buildings in Bohemia .
