Thilo Hoppe (born January 20, 1958 in Einbeck ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

From 2005 to 2009 he was chairman and from 2009 to 2013 deputy chairman of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Bundestag.

Life and work

After graduating from the Goetheschule in Einbeck, Hoppe did a traineeship at the Allgemeine Zeitung in Uelzen and at the Christian Press Academy and then studied religious education in Hanover . He then worked as a deacon at the Evangelical- Lutheran Lamberti parish in Aurich from 1986 to 2002 .

Thilo Hoppe is married for the second time and has three children. His daughter Marie sat for the Greens in Bremen from 2011 to 2015 .

Political party

Thilo Hoppe became a member of the GDR citizens' movement Democracy Now in 1990 and in the same year in Alliance 90 .

MP

From 1996 to 2002 Hoppe belonged to the district council of the Aurich district and was most recently chairman of the Green parliamentary group .

From 2002 to 2013 Hoppe was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2002 to 2005 he was development policy spokesman for the Bundestag parliamentary group Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and from 2005 to 2009 he was chairman of the committee for economic cooperation and development.

Thilo Hoppe ran for his party in the Aurich - Emden constituency in 2009 and entered the German Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list. In the 2013 Bundestag election , he did not succeed in re-entry.
