It is possible that the Prenzingerau residence belonged to the Haunsperger family as early as the 14th century. A reliable mention of the residence can be found in the Mattseer Salbuch from 1527, in which Matheus von Haunsperg is named as the owner.

On February 22, 1555, Hartneid von Haunsperg was confirmed to be licensed , which was also not subject to the jurisdiction of the archbishop's caretaker. He was also granted a number of other rights (fishing rights, fox and hare hunting, holding large and small weddings, bowling, races).

On January 20, 1562, the widowed Juliana von Haunsperg asked the Archbishop of Salzburg for help with the table rights against the keeper of Mattsee . The seat at Oberalm fell in 1638 through marriage to the Lords of Pranckh .

In the centuries that followed, the owners of the residence and landlords in the Au changed frequently. Around 1840 the foundation walls of the old mansion were removed. Towards the end of the 19th century, there is reports of a pond that can be considered the remainder of the old moat.

The "Taferne" has been owned by the Keil family since 1874. Today the building is a farm; Above the entrance the name Keil is stamped into the stone.
