Antonio dos Santos

António dos Santos , fighting name 55 , (born March 1, 1960 in Poetete , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the FRETILIN party .

Career

Santos completed the second year of the preparatory school for technicians. In 2012 he became a Member of the National Parliament of East Timor and a member of the Commission for Constitutional Affairs, Justice, Public Administration, Local Jurisprudence and Anti-Corruption (Commission A). In the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2017 , Santos was able to move back into FRETILIN's 15th place on the list. He was now a member of the Commission for Infrastructure, Transport and Communication (Commission E). Since the minority government of FRETILIN and PD could not prevail in parliament, President Francisco Guterres dissolved it and called for new elections. In the early election on May 12, 2018, Santos was able to move into parliament again at number 22 on the FRETILIN list, where FRETILIN is now the strongest opposition party. Santos is now on the Economic and Development Commission (Commission D).

Award

In 2015 Santos received the Ordem de Timor-Leste , representing the members of the group who hid the independence leader Nino Konis Santana between 1993 and 1998 in Loblala (Suco Poetete) under a residential building . All group members collectively bear the award.
