Ante Bilić (born September 28, 1983 in Split , Croatia ) is a Croatian boxer, kickboxer and K-1 fighter.

Athletic career

Bilić was born in Split in Croatia and came to martial arts at a young age . He won his first title in kickboxing . Here he became three-time world champion of the World Kickboxing Association (WKA). On the side, Bilić began his career as an amateur boxer. He completed 106 amateur fights of which he won 101 and was Croatian national champion four times. At the same time, Bilić got into the ring as a K-1 fighter. He played a total of 66 kickboxing and K1 fights of which he was able to win 63. He was a multiple tournament winner.

In May 2002 Ante Bilić signed a contract as a professional boxer with an Italian manager and promoter. But at the end of the year, in November 2003, Bilic signed a manager contract with the German boxing manager Ebby Thust . His new promoter was AURA SPORTS, a German promoter group.

In his eighth professional fight, Bilić fought on October 16, 2004 in Cologne, against the Belarusian Sasha Snip for the youth world championship of the WBC in the light middleweight division. Bilić won a rousing fight in the 9th round by knockout. He then defended this title several times. At the beginning of 2005, Bilić moved to Dietmar Poszwa's Spotlight Boxing Team in Hamburg. Bilić fought his best fight in his native Croatia, when he impressively knocked out the strong Belarusian Sergei Schnip on June 18, 2005, in the sold out arena of Pula, in the second main fight (main fight Stipe Drews against Omar Eduardo Gonzalez) in the second round.

His previous defeats he suffered on points against the Czech Lukáš Konečný and the Russian Sergei Sorokin, who also knocked him to the ground.

Ante Bilić was arrested on October 23, 2012 for the murder of Marijan Bilić Kovačević in Split, Croatia.
