After a 20th place in Innsbruck he reached 11th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . After another 29th place in Bischofshofen , he ended up 15th in the overall tournament ranking Despite this good overall result, he did not take part in the 1962/63 tour. It was not until the Four Hills Tournament in 1963/64 that he returned to the Finnish squad and surprised with second place in Oberstdorf. However, he was unable to repeat his first and only podium position in the episode. After two eighth places in Innsbruck and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, he finished the tour with 17th place in Bischofshofen. In the overall standings, he finished fifth.

Immonen's last international tournament started at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 . He achieved 31st place in both individual competitions.
