Anthony Laup (born October 23, 1982 in Le Havre ) is a French football player .

Career

The 168 centimeter tall striker Laup, whose ancestors come from the island of Réunion , grew up in Le Havre in northern France and was trained at Le Havre AC, which is located there. At the club from Normandy , however, he did not get a chance to jump into the professional squad, although he had temporarily belonged to the second team. In 2004 he was included in the squad of the fourth division US Quevilly . A year later he was also fourth-rate USL Dunkerquecommitted and stayed in the far north of the country until he returned to Norman Quevilly in 2007. In the club, which continues to play in the fourth division, he received a regular place and came with nine hits in the 2008/09 season on his best rate as a scorer. In 2010, he and his teammates received nationwide attention when they reached the semi-finals in the national cup competition and lost 1-0 to eventual title winners Paris Saint-Germain . This was followed by another success in 2011, when the team made the promotion to third division perfect.

In the third division, Laup also retained his firm place in the top eleven, while at the same time as the team in the cup, he became a surprise team for the second time since 2010. In the 2011/12 cup season , Quevilly beat the internationally renowned first division club Olympique Marseille . In the semifinals they met the equally first-class Stade Rennes and it was 1: 1 until Laup was the shooter of the winning goal in the third minute of stoppage time and thus made the final possible. On April 28, 2012 they faced the first division side Olympique Lyon in the final and the then 29-year-old striker had a great opportunity in the course of the game, but national goalkeeper Hugo Lloris directed his shot to the crossbar. In the 81st minute he was taken out of the game and ultimately suffered a 0-1 defeat of his team. The player had thus contested the final without being able to book a single professional appearance in the first or second division.

Immediately after the final, he turned his back on Quevilly in the summer of 2012 and went to third division rivals US Orléans . With this he was initially set, but then mostly took over the role of a reservist and was usually only substituted. In view of this, he turned his back on the club in 2013 and found a new employer in the fourth division AS Beauvais . This was then similar to the previous one in Orléans, he played no role in the second half of the season and at the beginning of the 2014/15 season accepted a contract offer from the sixth-class traditional club FC Rouen . In the summer break of 2015, he moved to the fifth division club ESM Gonfreville.
