The flower-nosed bat ( Anthops ornatus ) is a species of bat from the family of round-leaf noses (Hipposideridae).
The name-giving feature is the folded nose sheet reminiscent of a flower. This is colored orange-yellow, while the rest of the fur is colored gray. These animals reach a head trunk length of around 47 to 50 millimeters, one animal weighed eight grams. The tail is very short compared to other round-leaf noses.
Flower nose bats live on the Solomon Islands Choiseul , Santa Isabel and Guadalcanal as well as Bougainville . Their habitat are forests up to 200 meters high.
Less than ten specimens of this species have been found so far, so little is known about their way of life. Presumably the animals feed on insects .
