The Antim Peak (English; Bulgarian връх Антим wrach Antim ) is a 2080 m high mountain on Smith Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the Imeon Range, it rises 2.4 and 0.85 km northeast of the two peaks of Mount Foster , 3.4 km south-southwest of Mount Pisgah , 16 km southwest of Cape Smith and 16 km northeast of Cape James . Its partly ice-free south-east slopes are particularly striking. The New Zealander Greg Landreth and his team made the first ascent in 1996, who identified it as a summit independent of Mount Foster.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named him in 2006 after Anthim I (1816–1888), exarch and head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church .
