The Imeon Range (English; Bulgarian хребет Имеон chrebet Imeon ) is a 30 km long and 6.8 km wide mountain range with a southwest-northeast orientation on Smith Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It looms between Cape James and Cape Smith . The highest point at 2105 m is the southern summit of Mount Foster , which New Zealander Greg Landreth and his team were the first to climb on January 30, 1996.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2006 after a name common among the proto- Bulgarians for the mountain complex of Hindu Kush , Pamir and Tian Shan .
