Antiochus XI.

Antiochus XI. Epiphanes or Philadelphos (* around 115 or 113 BC; † 92 BC), son of Antiochus VIII. Grypos from his first marriage to Tryphaina and twin brother of Philip I , was next to his twin brother from 95–92 BC . King of the Seleucids .

Although Seleucus VI. , the older brother of Antiochus XI. and Philip I, in 95 BC BC in the battle for the succession to the throne against Antiochus X. Eusebes was defeated and was later killed, his two younger brothers declared themselves kings of the Seleucids together. They sought vengeance and besieged Antioch . After the defeat in the Battle of the Orontes against Antiochus X. Antiochus XI. flee and drowned in the river trying to cross it on his horse.

The brothers minted a common coin, which showed their two heads on one side and a representation of Zeus on the other .
