Antirrhinum molle is a plant from the genus of snapdragons ( Antirrhinum ) in the family of plantain plants (Plantaginaceae).

description

Antirrhinum molle is a dwarf shrub whose prostrate to ascending stems reach lengths of up to 40 cm. Stems, leaves and flower stalks are glandeless and downy to woolly hairy, calyx , crown and the fruits are glandular-downy hairy. The foliage leaves, which are opposite below and alternate above, are 8 to 22 mm long and 5 to 20 mm wide, broadly ovate to elliptical. The leaf stalks are 2 to 6 mm long.

The bracts resemble the foliage leaves. The flower stalks are 3 to 20 mm long. The calyx lobes are 5 to 8 mm long, lanceolate and pointed. The crown is 25 to 35 mm long, colored white or pale pink and has a yellow palate.

The fruits are almost spherical capsules with a diameter of 7 to 8 mm.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence and locations

The species is distributed in the east and in the middle of the Pyrenees and in the adjacent mountains in northeast Spain and Portugal . It grows on lime-rich rocks and walls at altitudes between 500 and 1800 m.
