Antje Krug

Antje Krug (born July 30, 1940 in Schwelm ) is a German classical archaeologist .

After attending grammar school in Schwelm, she studied Classical Archeology, Ancient History and Egyptology in Mainz, Marburg and Munich from the 1959 summer semester. On December 16, 1967, she received her doctorate with a dissertation on "Binding in Greek Art" at the University of Mainz under Frank Brommer . This was followed by a traineeship at the antiques department of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Kassel , after which she worked as a scientist at the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin until her retirement . There, the Senior Scientific Adviser was the President's personal advisor and head of the archive. The scientific focus of Krug is the medical historical archeology, the processing of the small finds from Munigua as well as research on ancient glyptics .
