Antje Wilkenloh (born June 6, 1972 ) is a former gymnast and was the last all- around champion in the GDR in 1989 .

Career

Antje Wilkenloh began her career in the gymnastics center of the Rostock fish combine. At the age of nine she took first place in the horse jump at the 8th Children's and Youth Spartakiad and was delegated to the Empor Rostock sports club for performance training .

As a result, she celebrated successes in national and international competitions and was four times champion at the last championships in the GDR in 1989.

Due to the hard training and numerous injuries that could not be healed due to the expectations of success of the GDR sports officials, Wilkenloh took early retirement in 1990 due to sports. She received a one-off compensation of 12,000 GDR marks.
