Antoinette Gillou
Antoinette Marie Jeanne Gillou-Gentien (born January 19, 1883 in Paris , † February 16, 1949 there ) was a French tennis player .
biography
Gillou came from a tennis family. Her sister Kate Gillou-Fenwick and brother Pierre Gillou also played. Kate was the most successful with four titles at the French Open .
In 1900 Antoinette Gillou took part in the mixed doubles at the Olympic Games . With their partner Pierre Verdé-Delisle, they lost to Hedwiga Rosenbaumová and Archibald Warden in three sets in their first match . Besides this tournament, no further tournament results have been reported. In Joan Schenkar's book Truly Wild , Antoinette Gillou was referred to as a member of high society. She was said to have had a love affair with Dorothy Wilde , Oscar Wilde's niece .
Gillou married Paul Gentien in 1904 and had a son named Antoine Gentien with him in 1905 , who also played tennis professionally from 1921 to 1951.
