Anton Albers the Younger

Anton Albers the Younger (born December 23, 1877 in Bremen , † December 23, 1915 in Dünaburg , Latvia) was a German painter .

Life

Anton Dietrich Albers the Elder J. was born the son of a businessman in Bremen . He first began a business apprenticeship and from 1897 studied at the art academy in Karlsruhe under Gustav Schönleber . After his studies, Albers lived in Paris and Rome for a long time. In addition to landscapes and portraits, Albers mainly created impressive woodcuts.

Travels took him to Greece and Egypt before he settled in Rönnebeck on the Weser from 1911 . He was a soldier in World War I and died on December 23, 1915 in a Russian military hospital.

The grave of Anton Albers is in the cemetery of the Rönnebeck Farge church .
